My journey to finding myself!

Who am I? Well, that is a great question. Believe it or not, I just figured that one out for myself!

3 years ago, I suffered a devastating blow to my psyche, my literal sense of self. Great job, 6 figure salary, pension, benefits, business status, and the world at my fingertips. In the blink of an eye, the universe literally punched me in the face with something I never thought could happen to me; burnout and depression.

At the time, I didn’t know what was happening to me. I cried waking up, cried during seemingly normal activities, cried before I slept and all the while it felt like someone was sitting on my chest, not allowing me to take in one full breath. I lived like this for months until what I felt like was the sky falling.

I remember those few days like it was yesterday; booking that emergency doctor's appointment, waiting in the office, sitting down in the doctor's chair, and literally breaking down. I sobbed and sobbed from the second she asked me “Crystal, how can I help you today?”. I truly didn’t know the answer to that question. Why was I there? What was really wrong? I was lucky enough that she understood me through my tears and she told me that I was burnt out, and absolutely needed time off.

I spent almost 6 months on a leave of absence, fighting for my life. I was depressed and suicidal and I felt like I had nothing to live for. How could I be “burnt out”?

Me... The hard-working woman who led amazing teams and projects?

Me...Who was organized and never let anyone down?

Me...Who loved taking care of everyone around me?

I won’t go into the politics of mental health in the corporate world right now, but I will say that recovery was a bitter pill to swallow. I needed to re-learn who I was deep down inside. Not the working woman, but the TRUE woman that I had been suppressing. I took the time to delve into myself in self-discovery. I allowed myself to explore my likes and dislikes. I learned how to say “NO” as easily as I used to say “YES”.

My journey to self-discovery led me to where I am today! A newly found woman, who knows what she loves and is following her passion and living her dreams!

Not everyone’s journey has to be this difficult, which is why I chose to pave my way in the wellness industry as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. My role is to help guide my clients in a direction that is right for them while harnessing our intuition to guide the process. Welcome to our new world!

Lovingly yours,
